Monika and Coin

2001

It is a financial-educational fairy tale for children about savings, about a possibility to safely deposit money at a bank and to “grow” it. The protagonists of the book – Monika and her friend Five-Litas Coin – travel together and introduce the little readers to bank functions and services along the way. They also find out about an armoured car with an inscription “Collection” as well as about a payment card, ATM, and even PIN code, which, unfortunately, has no relation to the name Pinocchio whatsoever. The fairy tale encourages parents to open Children’s deposit accounts at a bank, to raise money and to take care of the child’s future right now.
This is the second book for children by this author.
The fairy tale was illustrated by painter Vida Alesienė.
The book is oriented to pre-school-aged children and junior schoolchildren.
